Surveillance Camera Selection Guide (Indoor)
1. Where the surveillance camera is applicable
Indoor surveillance cameras are suitable for school classrooms, shopping malls, corridors, office buildings, hospitals, restaurants and other public places.
2. Classification of surveillance cameras
(1). According to the shape classification:
A. Gun-shaped surveillance camera: The price is cheap, but it has no zoom and rotation functions. It can only monitor a fixed distance at an angle and has no good concealment.
B. Hemispherical surveillance camera: The shape has a certain degree of concealment. Due to its small size and beautiful appearance, it is suitable for use in office places and places with high-grade decoration, and can be hoisted on the ceiling.
C. Spherical surveillance camera: It is expensive and can adapt to high-density and complex surveillance sites. It is an all-in-one camera and pan/tilt device, with features and functions such as fast tracking, 360° pan rotation, no surveillance blind spot and privacy area shielding
(2). Whether the installation can be rotated or not:
A. Rotatable: spherical surveillance camera, gun-shaped surveillance camera with PTZ.
B. Non-rotatable: hemispherical surveillance camera, gun-shaped surveillance camera without gimbal.
3. Introduction to the parameters of the surveillance camera
(1). Resolution: The resolution determines the clarity of the surveillance camera. Generally, the resolution of the current surveillance camera is above 1080P.
(2). Pixels: Pixels also determine the clarity of the surveillance camera. Generally, the current surveillance camera has more than 2 million pixels.
Summary: The resolution determines the sharpness of the surveillance camera, and the pixel also determines the sharpness of the resolution. What is the relationship between the two? Generally, 1080P resolution refers to 1920X1080, 1920X1080=2073600 or 2 million pixels.
(3). Focal length: The smaller the focal length, the closer the viewing distance and the larger the viewing angle; the larger the focal length, the farther the viewing distance and the smaller the viewing angle.
(4). Aperture: The smaller the value after F, the larger the aperture, the greater the amount of incoming light, the brighter the picture, the narrower the focal plane, the greater the blurring of the subject and the background; the larger the value after F, the smaller the aperture, and the greater the amount of incoming light. Less, the picture is darker, the wider the focal plane, the clearer the front and rear of the subject.
(5). Night Vision:
A. Infrared night vision mode: Black and white enhanced video recording is used at night.
B. Full-color night vision mode: color video is used at night.
C. Smart mode: Infrared night vision mode is used when no one is detected, and full-color night vision mode is used when someone is detected.
(6). Networking method:
A. WIFI mode: The monitoring camera can be connected to WIFI, and the monitoring screen can be viewed remotely through the mobile phone.
B. Network cable mode: The monitoring camera can be connected to the network cable, and the monitoring screen can be viewed remotely through the mobile phone.
C. AP hotspot mode: The surveillance camera sends out an AP hotspot (similar to a mobile phone hotspot), and you can view the surveillance images from a short distance within 10m of the surveillance camera through your mobile phone.
D. 4G mode: insert the mobile phone card of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom into the surveillance camera, you can remotely watch the monitoring screen through the mobile phone, and only consume the traffic when watching the monitoring screen with the mobile phone, and do not consume the traffic when not watching. Suitable for places without internet.
(7). Storage:
A. Local memory card mode: The monitoring video is stored in the local memory card, and the video can be looped for playback of the monitoring video.
B. Cloud storage mode: The surveillance video is stored in the cloud storage, but generally requires payment.
C. Others: Different manufacturers have different other storage methods.
